Wells of Life Co-Founder Nick Jordan Attends a Historic Night in LA
Nick Jordan meets with British Consul General at a reception to welcome Northern Ireland's First Minister and Deputy First Minister.
IRVINE, CA, March 15, 2009 /Direct Marketing PR News/ -- The First Minister and Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland visited Los Angeles yesterday. Nick Jordan, co-founder of Wells of Life was invited to attend a reception in their honor.
"I am thrilled at the opportunity," stated Nick Jordan. "The significance for British and Northern Ireland relations is so relevant right now. The peace process has united all ex-patriots across the continents. Recent events in Northern Ireland have caused all of us to become even closer in our belief that peace is every person's right."
The reception was held Wednesday evening at the British Consul General Bob Peirce and his wife Mrs. Sharon Harroun Peirce's home in Los Angeles. First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness are in town to promote Northern Ireland and they are looking to forge business connections to assist with job creation in Northern Ireland. They will be meeting with President Obama next week.
Nick Jordan also spoke about the work of his Wells of Life charity. Wells of Life is a non-profit organization that builds sustainable water sources for the people of East Africa. Their goal is to build 1000 wells in 10 years.
"The work of Wells of Life was a conversation that circulated throughout the evening and there was universal belief that providing water to all must become the goal of the next decade, stated Nick Jordan. "There were no borders at this event only people committed to making a difference. Next to achieving a peaceful world, having access to clean drinking water comes a very close second."
